Jay Kanevsky

Jay Kanevsky

Assistant Coach And Head Crossfit Kids Coach

Assistant Coach and Head CrossFit Kids Coach Jay Kanevsky says his biggest athletic accomplishment is losing 130 lbs. in two years – going from 336 to 196 lbs. Jay got his Level 1 certification to learn more about the foundational movements of CrossFit and become more efficient in his own training. “But the more I learned, the more I became a teacher to others,” he says. “When I thought about expanding to coach CrossFit kids, I wanted to learn how to coach. I started by following the on-ramp coaching at the gym and fell in love with coaching. Now, here I am.”

Jay is a teacher by day, so coaching is a natural extension of what he already loves to do. “I appreciate and enjoy making the connections,” he says. “I enjoy just getting to know everyone, especially athletes that I wouldn’t see normally while just working out.”
